Mandatory:

  • In-country testing required if no acceptable CB report can be provided
  • Standard Applied: KC 62133-2:2020
  • Component cell compliance method​: CB or testing with battery
  • In-country representation not required
  • Samples and timeline
    • 21 batteries
    • 65 cells
    • 10-12 weeks
  • No factory inspection​

Things to be aware of:​

  • Label will need specific details (only warnings must be in Hangul – Korean language)
    • Product name
    • Model name
    • Designation (IEC designation)
    • Nominal voltage
    • Capacity (minimum capacity)
    • Manufacturer (factory)
    • Customer service number
    • Country of manufacturer
  • Alternate factories = new submittal
  • CB reports are accepted to reduce testing but not cost
  • Major changes in 2020
